Adeboye Plans Special Prayer for Nigeria’s Economic Restoration

Worshippers, intercessors, and concerned citizens across all denominations are invited to participate in the service either physically at RCCG’s Oyingbo headquarters or virtually via RCCG’s official platforms.

Lagos, Nigeria – Amid rising inflation and widespread socio-economic hardship in Nigeria, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has announced a special prayer session dedicated to the restoration and expansion of the nation’s economy.

The prayer event, themed “Divine Intervention,” will take place during the church’s July 2025 Thanksgiving Service at RCCG’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.

Adeboye made this known through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, during a press conference held in Lagos on Friday. He urged Nigerians to look beyond prevailing economic challenges and embrace faith and positive action.

“Our nation, Nigeria — as well as other nations of the world — is going through a challenging time,” Balogun quoted Adeboye as saying. “However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt.”

He encouraged Nigerians to reject the narrative of hopelessness and instead “plug into the mystery of faith and positive reasoning” as a pathway to lasting national progress.

A Call to National Intercession

The revered cleric, who is widely known for his prophetic declarations and prayer-driven ministry, believes the country’s current economic woes can be reversed through divine intervention.

“To this effect,” Balogun said, “Pastor Adeboye has undertaken to lead prayers for national economic restoration and enlargement. Our nation needs transformation into the realm of divine opportunities.”

The July thanksgiving service is expected to draw thousands of worshippers and intercessors from across the country and beyond, both in-person and via online streaming platforms.

RCCG Sets Up Prayer Team for National Needs

Also speaking at the press briefing, Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, noted that the RCCG had already mobilized a dedicated prayer team focused on national concerns throughout the second half of the year.

“We already have a team that is focused on praying for the nation,” Macaulay said. “Our post-activity is focused on intercession — for the environment, for the weather, and for national clemency. Because once you plant, you also need the environment to support your harvest.”

He emphasized that divine opportunities are always orchestrated by God, but only those who connect through faith, obedience, and sacrifice will reap the benefits.

National Response to Economic Hardship

Adeboye’s upcoming prayer session comes at a critical time in Nigeria’s economic trajectory. Soaring inflation, foreign exchange instability, and widespread unemployment have continued to place immense pressure on households and businesses alike.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently warned that Nigeria may need to review its 2025 budget to avoid further economic strain, raising alarm over fiscal sustainability.

In response to this growing anxiety, faith communities — including RCCG — are stepping in with spiritual and moral support for the nation. Adeboye’s leadership in prayer is being viewed by many believers as a timely call to national repentance and revival.

Hope Amidst the Storm

Known for his humility, prophetic accuracy, and unwavering commitment to prayer, Pastor Adeboye has remained a consistent voice of encouragement throughout Nigeria’s turbulent times. He often emphasizes that the destiny of nations can be altered through strategic prayer and righteous governance.

“When the righteous pray, God answers,” a worshipper at RCCG’s Lagos headquarters told our correspondent. “Daddy G.O.’s call for national prayers is a sign that something is about to shift.”

As the date for the ‘Divine Intervention’ thanksgiving service approaches, expectations are high that this gathering will not only be a time of worship but also a defining moment of prophetic alignment for Nigeria’s economic destiny.

Worshippers, intercessors, and concerned citizens across all denominations are invited to participate in the service either physically at RCCG’s Oyingbo headquarters or virtually via RCCG’s official platforms.

For those praying along, RCCG encourages writing down specific areas of economic concern — both personal and national — and submitting them as points of intercession during the service.

“This is more than an event,” Pastor Balogun noted. “It’s a spiritual rallying cry for national economic restoration. God still answers prayers — and we believe He will answer Nigeria.”
